After a dismal breakfast at our hotel, in Abilene, we explored the Frontier Texas ! museum, which was quite impressive. The entry fee was only $6, but it was very worthwhile. Enjoyed it immensely. We were even in the middle of a buffalo stampede and a cattle drive !
Headed out to Houston around 12:30 PM, through some pretty country, with plenty of Blue Bells beside the road. Both in Texas and New Mexico, we have seen a lot of deserted houses and businesses that look to have been in that state for many years ! Had lunch at a Cracker Barrel's, which we always enjoy. Have to be careful, as they don't have much in the way of healthy food. Lots of calories in everything and it is quite tempting.
Arrived in Houston about 7 PM where we are staying with Craig's brother and his family. They have had a rough couple of years, since the motorcycle accident of the older son, Braxton. They took us to dinner at a neat barbeque place, named Pappa's, then we came home and crashed !
