Katie, Craig and I took Shea and Sean to school this morning ... they go to a wonderful private school, where both at excelling at their studies.  
Then Katie and Steve took us to lunch at the Standard Diner before we "hit the road".  This is a fabulous diner that has been featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives with Gary Fieri.  The food is very fabulous !  Last time we were here, I had their special Southwestern Shepard's Pie, which was not on the menu this time.  This time, Katie and Steve had their Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, Craig had the Bourbon Better Burger, and I had the Finer Loaf, which was bacon wrapped meat loaf.  Scrumptuous!

After lunch, we said our Goodbyes until July, when they will be coming out to California.  We headed out for the long trip to Abilene ... wasn't sure if we would make it all the way, but just pushed on until we did.  Hit quite a bit of rain, but the roads were good and not much traffic.  The time change just sneaks up on us, though.  We pulled into Abilene about 10 PM !  Ate at a Chili's, which was the only place open, except for Denny's.  But, lunch definitely made up for it.
